Marianne Genetti - Founder and President

Marianne has a B.Sc. degree from the College of Health and Human Development at Penn State University.  Originally from Hazleton, Pa., she moved to Orlando, Florida in 1971 to take a position with the Martin-Marietta Company in Contract Administration.  Since 1983, she has owned and operated Penn Properties, Inc., a real estate brokerage.  In 2000 she returned to school, enrolling in the Nursing Program at Valencia Community College, to expand her knowledge of health matters .  Her biography appears in Who's Who Of American Women.

 

 

 
PATRICK MAGILL, ESQ - Treasurer

Mr. Magill graduated with distinction from Indiana University at Bloomington and completed law studies at Hastings College of Law in San Fransisco, his hometown.  He re-located to Orlando, Florida in 1976 and began practicing law as a sole practitioner in 1978 with a focus on Commercial and Real Estate Litigation, Estate Planning - Probate, and Family Law.  His Bar activities have included Chairing the Law Week Committee and he is the current Chair of the Professionalism Committee.  He has served as a Trustee for the Legal Aid Society of Orange County since 1991 and was President from 1994 to 1995.
 


Trish Miller - Director

Mrs. Miller is a native of Western Massachusetts, was educated at the University of Pennsylvania and has lived in Florida for 16 years.  She has had a long interest in health care issues, including quality of care, access to care, patient privacy, and health insurance and related law.  She is a long term cancer survivor, and a volunteer patient advocate with the Association of Cancer Online resources.  She has worked as a research assistant in vaccine trials, as a writer, editor, photographer and a computer programmer.  She is a member of the board of directors of the Central Florida Watercolor Society.  She and her husband, Hugh, have one daughter, Jennie.
 
 
 
Marilyn Hochman - Director

Marilyn Hochman has been practicing law for 25 years. She is admitted to the Florida Bar and to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.  She graduated from the University of Florida with a B.A. in Political Science. Her law degree is from Nova University. Ms. Hochman is a past president of the Seminole County Bar Association Legal Aid Society and the Sumter County Bar Association. She has served on as a director for several legal aid associations in

 

Florida and was the treasurer of the Seminole County Bar.  She has been selected by Florida Trend magazine as one of Florida’s Legal Elite Attorneys, has been recognized as an Outstanding Woman of Orlando and was nominated for the Jefferson Award.  Ms. Hochman practices crisis law©. Crisis Law© includes issues that affect families and children including divorces, custody, child support, adoptions, collaborative family law and domestic violence.  Ms. Hochman’s community activities are varied. She serves on a volunteer basis as the Chairperson for the Indian Trails Middle School Advisory Committee and is the Legislative Chairperson for Seminole County Special Education PTA.  Ms. Hochman has also been active with the League of Women Voters for many years. Marilyn and her husband of 21 years have four school age children. 

Lorraine Shumaker - Director

Lorraine has 28 years experience in the social service field directly related to the senior population. In 1980, she began her career with the Visiting Nurse Association / Community Care for the Elderly (C.C.E.) as a Certified Nurses Assistant. During her almost 11 years with C.C.E., she worked her way up to Homemaker Program Manager where she oversaw all aspects of a program that provided housekeeping service to over 1200 frail seniors in the Orange, Seminole & Osceola Counties. In 1992, Lorraine accepted a job with Seniors First, Inc. as Director of Neighborhood Services where she directed the Congregate Meals, Transportation & Homemaker Programs. During her 16 years with Seniors First, she has also directed their Senior Employment and Volunteer Programs. In 2005 Lorraine completed the Crummer Management Program at Rollins College and in  March 2009, obtained a Certificate in Non-Profit Management .
